Questions, answered

Do I need to install anything?

No. Open CraftCut in your browser. Once loaded, local editing can work offline as a Progressive Web App (PWA). AI and cloud backup need an internet connection.

Is it really free?

Yes. The Free plan lets you design, optimize cut lists, preview in 3D, and export — no credit card. While we’re in beta, Pro features are free too, so you can try everything before deciding to upgrade.

Do I need CAD or design experience?

You can start with a configurable template without knowing CAD. Adjust the dimensions and inspect the design in 3D. Text and photo AI starts require a free account. Review measurements, materials and construction before anyone makes the piece.

Can I export files for my CNC machine?

The Workshop plan includes DXF and SVG export for import into CAM software. You still need to set up tooling, workholding and toolpaths there; CraftCut does not generate G-code. PDF booklets and CSV cut lists are available subject to existing plan limits.

Where are my designs stored?

Without an account, designs are stored in this browser. AI and cloud backup require a free account; cloud-backed projects can be opened on another device after syncing. Keep a project export if you need a separate copy.

Do I have to make a cut plan first?

No. Refine the furniture design and make draft documents for planning or a shop quote without preparing a self-cut layout. Drafts are not instructions to start cutting. Confirm dimensions, materials and construction with whoever will make the piece.

What happens when the beta ends?

Complimentary Beta Pioneer Pro access ends September 30, 2026. Your projects stay yours and the Free plan stays free. Eligible pioneers can choose a non-renewing Founding Supporter purchase through December 31 or select a regular subscription.
