About CraftCut
CraftCut helps you design furniture for your space and make a plan you can use. Start with a template, text, photo, or blank canvas. Adjust dimensions, review the design in 3D, and make documents for planning, a cutting shop, or your own cuts.
The Problem
You want a bookshelf that fits an alcove or a cabinet with different storage. A sketch helps, but you still need dimensions, a view of how the panels fit together, and something clear to discuss with whoever will make it.
Some projects stop at comparing designs or asking a shop for a quote. Others continue to buying sheets, cutting, and assembly. CraftCut connects those tasks without making a cutting plan the price of getting a useful design.
The Approach
CraftCut was designed around a few core principles:
Start Without an Account
Templates and a blank canvas work locally without an account. AI and cloud backup require a free account and an internet connection.
Keep the Design Editable
Change dimensions and panel arrangements, then inspect the result in 3D. Make a new document when you want to share an updated version.
Useful Documents
Use summaries and parts lists for planning or shop quotes. Add cutting layouts and assembly guidance when your project needs them.
Continuously Improving
CraftCut is actively developed. Feedback on editing, planning documents, and workshop use helps guide improvements.
Technology
The editor runs in your browser as a progressive web application (PWA). Local editing can work offline after loading. AI uses online processing, and accounts and cloud backup use a server. Optional CNC export and sheet inventory support more detailed shop work.
Status
CraftCut is currently in beta. The core functionality is working and usable, but we are still actively developing new features, improving the user experience, and fixing issues. If you encounter bugs or have feedback, we'd love to hear from you.
Draft documents help you plan and communicate; they are not permission to start cutting. Check dimensions, materials, joints, hardware, and support with your maker. Software checks do not certify strength or machine setup. See an example plan with its assumptions and review notes.
