Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CraftCut ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CraftCut.
2. Eligibility
You may use CraftCut if you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. CraftCut does not require account creation, so no age verification is performed at the point of use.
3. Beta Status
CraftCut is currently in beta. This means:
- Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice
- You may encounter bugs, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior
- Data stored in your browser's local storage may be affected by updates
- Performance and availability are not guaranteed during the beta period
- We recommend exporting important projects regularly as a precaution
We are actively developing and improving CraftCut. Your feedback during the beta period is welcome at hello@craftcut.io and helps us build a better product.
4. Description of Service
CraftCut is a browser-based furniture design tool that provides:
- A visual canvas for designing furniture panels
- Automated cut list generation and optimization
- 3D preview of assembled furniture
- Printable production documents and assembly guides
The Service runs entirely in your browser. Your project data is stored locally on your device using browser local storage. No server-side account, subscription, or login is required.
5. Your Content
You retain all rights to the designs, projects, and content you create using CraftCut. Since your data is stored locally in your browser, we do not have access to your content and cannot claim any ownership or license over it.
You are solely responsible for the content you create and any real-world application of designs, cut lists, or assembly plans generated by the Service.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use CraftCut only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive the source code of the Service
- Use the Service to develop a competing product or service
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, trademarks, or marks on the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair its operation
- Introduce malicious code, viruses, or interfere with the Service's security features
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell access to the Service without prior written consent
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or similar tools to access or extract data from the Service
7. Intellectual Property
The CraftCut name, logo, brand assets, visual design, user interface, and application source code are proprietary and protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, and trade secret laws.
All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use CraftCut's trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
CraftCut is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- Cut list optimizations will produce optimal results for every scenario
- Measurements, calculations, or assembly instructions are free from errors
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations
- Defects in the Service will be corrected within any particular timeframe
Important: Always verify measurements and cut dimensions independently before cutting materials. CraftCut is a design aid, not a substitute for careful measurement, professional judgment, and adherence to applicable building codes and safety standards.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CraftCut and its creators, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or projects stored in browser local storage
- Material waste resulting from cut list calculations or optimization errors
- Physical injury or property damage resulting from construction based on generated plans
- Loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities
- Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
In no event shall CraftCut's total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the Service (which, during the beta period, is zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations of liability, so the above may not apply to you in full.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CraftCut and its creators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party
11. Data Loss
Since CraftCut stores data in your browser's local storage, data may be lost if you:
- Clear your browser data, cache, or local storage
- Uninstall, update, or reset your browser
- Use the Service in a private/incognito browsing mode
- Switch devices or browsers without exporting your projects
- Experience browser or operating system corruption
We are not responsible for any data loss. We strongly recommend exporting important projects regularly using the built-in export functionality.
12. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. For material changes, we may also provide notice within the application. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the Service.
13. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
14. Termination
Since CraftCut does not require an account, these Terms are effective for as long as you use the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. We reserve the right to restrict access to the Service if we reasonably believe you are violating these Terms. Sections 7 through 10 shall survive any termination of these Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CraftCut regarding your use of the Service. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the Service.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which CraftCut operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
18. Force Majeure
CraftCut shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, pandemic, or any other force majeure event.
